Clean Carpets
March 7, 2014
It has been a rough winter with all the ice and snow. The white chalky residue from salt treatments on walkways tends to get everywhere and somehow makes it into our homes. Milwaukee has seen its share of snow and ice, and this can lead to some dirty carpets once winter is over. Once you’re ready to put your home on the market, you should make sure your carpets are clean before you pick up the phone to call your Milwaukee movers to set up moving date. Here are some tips to help make sure your carpets stay clean this spring.
1. To prevent any more messes from getting on your carpet, remove your shoes before entering. This might be easier for you and your family than visitors. Some easy ways to help your visitors know your house is shoes off house is to place a few shoes by your door or even provide some wipes (either baby wipes or Clorox wipes) for guests if they are embarrassed to remove their shoes.
2. Make sure you have large, absorbent rugs and doormats by your doors. Sometime when shopping for rugs and doormats you might be looking for ones with nice designs or colors that match your house’s paint, forgetting about the function. Make sure to shop for absorbency and size to make sure your carpets stay clean.
3. Invest in a good carpet cleaner. It can be a hassle to set an appointment to get your carpets cleaned, and in some cases it might take more than one pass to get them clean. Rather than being at the mercy of a service, you can whip out your carpet cleaner and do an area that sees more traffic in a jiffy.
