A Little Guide to the Single Life in Milwaukee

Moving to a new city when you’re single can be very frustrating. It’s hard enough finding a social circle when you’re in a town with which you’re already familiar. It’s even more difficult, when you find yourself someplace new. Luckily, Milwaukee was chosen as #9 on Forbes’ list of the “Best Cities for Singles”, so you’re sure to do fine. Once your Milwaukee mover has driven away, and you’ve gotten a little settled in, here are some places to check out that just might yield a cool, new group of buddies.

1. Summer Festivals Rock

Milwaukee has a dizzying number of summer festivals. Check out the Locust Street Festival, Summerfest, Lakefront Festival of the Arts, the Bayview Bash, and Jazz in the Park to name just a few. You’ll meet great people and have a blast.

2. Art is Your Friend, Too

The Milwaukee Art Museum has both a very good regular collection, and a stunning array of traveling collections. It’s a great place to enjoy art and possibly have a good conversation about what you’re viewing with a fellow museum visitor.

3. A Little Upscale

If you’re feeling more like you need some nightlife fun, check out Kenadee’s. Rather hard to describe, the bar has a ridiculous number of beers on tap, but serves cocktails, and has a sort of log cabin meets trendy big city bar feel. It’s mix of styles draws a truly eclectic crowd.
