Kansas City, Missouri, is one of the most prominent cultural centers of the Midwest, boasting a wide variety of landmarks that locals and tourists and equally enjoy. Here are four unique attractions that can show your family a good time after working with Kansas City Movers.
1. If you’re interested in Midwestern history, you may be pleased to know that Missouri Town 1855, a cultural preserve, is merely 30 minutes to the east of downtown. Here you can watch reenactments of how people lived in a progressive farming community during that time, and there are plenty of original buildings to feast your eyes on.
2. Located in the suburb of Independence, the National Frontier Trails Museum is a heritage center that can help you learn about pioneer movements and major routes like the Santa Fe, Lewis and Clark and California trails. In addition, there are numerous community events that take place here on a regular basis. On May 12, for example, you can attend the Night at the Museum celebration, which includes scripted storytelling from performers, live music, food and beverages and a silent auction.
3. At the Theatre in the Park, which is in the suburb of Shawnee on the Kansas side of the border, you can enjoy a wide variety of live performances and plays. Every summer you can look forward to Broadway style musicals and other special events, such as Disney plays.
4. One local landmark that will likely catch your eye is the Rosedale Memorial Arch just west of downtown in Kansas. This World War I monument is an imitation of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, making it one of the most splendid architectural attractions in Kansas.
