Make Your Next Move a Little Easier
June 28, 2013
Preparing to move can truly be a headache. Not only does it take a great deal of planning and organization, it can also be an emotionally draining time. This is especially true if you are moving away from friends and loved ones in order to pursue career goals or to start a new life with a spouse. If you are moving to or from the Midwest, a professional mover can take some of the hassle out of the actual relocation. However, there are also a few ways you can help yourself, in order to make your move a little less stressful.
1. Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute
If you know you need to move by March 1, start packing on January 1. Pack a little at a time. Take the time to choose those things you really need, and those that you can leave behind.
2. Label Everything
By the time you arrive at your new place, every box will look the same. Do yourself a favor and make it easy to find your dishes, linens, and clothes when you arrive.
3. Move Your Valuables Separately
Things get broken. If you have anything you cannot live without, move it separately, and keep it in your sight.
Follow these simple tips, and maybe your next move won’t be quite so headache inducing.
