Moving Costs To Consider
August 16, 2013
Many people can be surprised at just how much moving ends up costing. Some focus on the little expenses and forget just how much a moving company may cost or how much traveling across the country can be. Others think of these large costs but forget the smaller ones such as packing supplies. In order to get an accurate estimate of how much you will spend on your move, you need to consider everything.
Packing Supplies
One of the most often overlooked (or underestimated) costs associated with moving is that of packing supplies. This includes things such as boxes and packing tape but it doesn’t end there. You may also need special supplies such as bubble wrap for fragile objects and protections for your furniture (unless they are provided by the moving company). When making an estimate, it is much better to overestimate how many boxes you will need then underestimating.
Moving Company
One of the largest expenses for any move is the moving company but there is not a good way to get around this unless you have very few items. While it can be tempting to save money and simply hire a truck, doing all of the heavy lifting yourself, this can be draining both physically and emotionally. Remember Phoenix movers have the experience needed to help you make your move hassle free.
Your Travel
If you are making a long move, such as cross-country or international, your own travel expenses (and that of your family) can quickly add up. Before making an estimate, consider if you will be flying or driving and how many items you will be taking with you (instead of on the moving truck).
